Abusive Head Trauma

Overview

This training focuses on abusive head trauma (Shaken Baby Syndrome) and how it can result in a serious brain injury from being forcefully shaken by an adult. Participants will discuss ways to be prepared and how self-care will allow for better outcomes for our children.

Important to Know

Preservice training in the Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome, Abusive Head Trauma, and Child Maltreatment topic is required for employees of licensed child care providers and employees of license-exempt child care providers participating in the Child Care Payment Assistance/Certificate Program. This training must be completed prior to contact with children.
